Mind Map

Oct 2014 Map project in Central Saint Martins I got motivated about historical maps that have created reflecting on perspective and circumstance even imperial power. and maps have been reflected people’s beliefs and imaginative geography, So, I suggest new map that exists our mind. Basically, the outcome are 3 pages in map. Because there are 3 kinds of maps that are center in Asia, Europe and America on the world map depending on where it made. The black countries on pages is based on collected datas in process. I considered, countries that someone have been before will still exist in their mind and memory. However, countries that have never been were removed on this map. In addition, all of counties were located on the center of the map with a central line because in the past, it was the most significant space and affective place to them. that mean each other countries exist on the center on their recognition and mind. Also, I adopted to the perspective of McArther’s universal map. Because, Southern hemisphere would be standard and center to people who lived in there. So, I created that map can transform the direction of map. (put name of continent and countries with opposed direction depend on location) Moreover, 3 maps get together as a world map and it will be changed each layers depend on participant who had been lived different place. If someone lived in asian country, it will be first layer and rest of map will be blurry vision. It is like order of priority on their recognition and influence. It could be changed direction of map. And then, countries s in Southern hemisphere would be standard and center to people who lived in there. So, It would be kind of fare map adopted participant’s standard and recognition. In the other words, it could be interacted by participants.
